About

Thank you for visiting Active Happiness. I created this site in the hope of helping us all to create greater happiness, both in our lives and in the world.

lmw-headshot-125My Story

Greetings. My name is Lynda Wallace, and I love what I do.

I am a coach and consultant who works with clients to help them gain the insights, skills, and confidence they need to build lives filled with happiness, meaning, and accomplishment. I meet with local clients in my sunny office in Montclair, NJ, and with clients from around the world over the phone and internet.

My practice is grounded in Positive Psychology, a research-based branch of psychology that studies the nature and causes of genuine happiness, healthy relationships, emotional well-being, meaningful accomplishments, and other elements of living well.

I came to this work after a very successful twenty-year career as an executive with Johnson & Johnson, where I was responsible for the acquisition of new medical technologies as well as the growth of a $1 billion global portfolio of brands including Band-Aids, Neosporin, and Purell.

I’m the very happy single mother of a wonderful daughter, whom I adopted from China when she was twelve months old. To my amazement, that was nearly twelve years ago. Whatever else I do in my life, that will always remain the best decision I ever made.

My Education

I hold an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. I completed my Certification in Advanced Positive Psychology Coaching following extensive academic and practical training with Dr. Robert Biswas Diener. I continue to study the science and application of Positive Psychology with Dr. Tal Ben-Shahar. Both Dr. Deiner and Dr. Ben-Shahar are world-renowned experts in the research and practical application of Positive Psychology. I am a member of the International Positive Psychology Association and the International Coach Federation.

My Approach

Clients have described my approach as “warm,” “insightful,” “generous,” “intelligent,” and “empowering.” I believe it’s clear to my clients that I love what I do, and that I’m fully committed to helping them achieve real breakthroughs in their lives, relationships, and careers.

If you’re interested in learning more about my approach, or how coaching works, please visit my coaching website or get in touch. I’d be happy to answer any questions you might have.
